Mark 9:23
“If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.
”Jesus was asked by a father of a boy to help the child who had been possessed by a demon for many years. This father was at his wits end and came to Jesus as a last resort for any kind of help He could give. Jesus’ response to him was, “everything is possible for one who believes.” What Christ was telling the distressed father was to have faith in Him, for He could certainly heal the boy if the father believed in Him!
While we may not be in the exact situation as the man that Jesus dealt with in this account in Scripture, God calls each and everyone of us to do things in our lives each day. We are to recognize and witness to others that our strength comes through faith in Christ, and that it is His strength displayed through us that we accomplish His plan.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Paul is letting the church at Philippi know that even though he has been through many struggles for standing for Christ, he can do these things because it is Christ who strengthens him. The very same holds true for every child of God today. When we are living our lives in accordance with His will for us there is nothing that He will call us to do that He will not give us the strength and ability to carry out. It is our part to trust God and step out in faith to do those things that He desires for us to accomplish.
This is yet another reason why it is crucial to be in communication with God on a daily basis so that He can speak to us through His Word and through the indwelling Holy Spirit. So, what has God called you to do today? Whatever it is, know that He is right there with you giving you all that you need to carry out His plan for your life!
Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness to me. Even though I fail You many times, You have never left me. I love You so and am looking forward to all that You have planned for my life. Help me to recognize Your will in every situation, for Your glory Abba, Amen!
